Rationale:
Our school selects monthly themes to embed in our teaching. For group thematic activities, I wanted to have a board game that I could modify each month. I also wanted to it be modifiable in the moment. It also had to be simple enough that I could use it with a variety of skill levels. Lastly, I wanted to be able to "undo" the whole thing if needed, meaning nothing permanent.
Materials:
Extra Laminate (clear plastic)
Hole Punch
Brads
Images to customize to the theme, and make spaces
Wet Erase Marker
Instructions:
Cut four squares of laminate a bit smaller than a square corner section of the board game.
Place a laminate square over a board game corner, and punch three holes on each of the outer corners of that square. Your inside corner should be in the middle of the board, and this is the only corner not punched.
Put brads through each punched hole.
Repeat for each corner of the board.
Slip your images under the laminate pieces, scotch tape them down if you want/need. I've done it and it was easily removable.
Customize as needed by drawing and writing on the laminate with a wet erase marker.
